Opening Day Awards

It's never too early to reflect on the impact of our draft. Here are some players and owners that made some headlines:

Burnt Man Award: Shane had the Byrd Man facing a very vulnerable Derek Lowe on the bench while he started weak hitters Conor Jackson and David Freese.

Assjol of the Day Award: Albert Pujols was the hitter of the day and didn't give a crap about the concerns of others.

Dr. James Andrews Award: Doc Halladay was a surgeon with the baseball and was the pitcher of the day for the Phillies and Troy.

The Ca-Zam Disappearing Act Award: Carlos Zambrano vanished in 1.1 IP and gave up eight earned for the worst pitching performance of the day.

The Unclaimed Baggage Award: Carlos Gomez (car-go) was the best player that wasn't on a roster for Opening Day (I added him already).

The Winoda Ryder Award: Chone Figgins stole the most bags with two against the Athletics.
